NTPC Green Energy Limited is incorporated on 7th April 2022 as a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC.
OBJECTIVE To hive-off the identified Renewable Energy Assets of NTPC along with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and carrying out monetization of the wholly owned Company through IPO or strategic investment route, subject to requisite approvals/clearances.

NTPC has acquired 100% equity stake held by Government of India (GoI) in NEEPCO on 27.03.2020, making NEEPCO wholly owned Subsidiary of NTPC.

OBJECTIVE To make a foray into the business of distribution and supply of electrical energy as a sequel to reforms initiated in the power sector.

NTPC MINING LIMITED (NML)
NTPC has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, “NTPC Mining Limited” (NML), on 29th August 2019 for handling its mining business.
OBJECTIVE
  •  To carry on business of coal mining, acquisition of coal mines, sale and disposal of coal in India and elsewhere.
  • Mining of Coal, Lignite, Manganese, Limestone, manufacturing coke & other Minerals

BHARTIYA RAIL BIJLEE COMPANY LIMITED (BRBCL)
BRBCL was incorporated on 22 November 2007 as a subsidiary of NTPC. NTPC holds 74 per cent of the equity of BRBCL and the Ministry of Railways (MoR) holds the remaining 26 per cent of equity.
OBJECTIVE To construct and operate 4x250 MW (1000 MW) Coal Based Power Plant at Nabinagar Bihar. Power from the project will be supplied to the Indian railways and the state of Bihar.

PATRATU VIDYUT UTPADAN NIGAM LIMITED (PVUNL)
PVUN Limited was incorporated on 15.10.2015 as JV Company of NTPC and JBVNL, Jharkhand.
OBJECTIVE The JV Company is formed for transfer of Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) located at Patratu, Ramgarh,  Jharkhand and to install 4000 MW coal based thermal power plant consisting of 5 units of 800 MW each which is to be implemented in two phases (Phase I: 3 x 800 MW and Phase II: 2 x 800 MW). Presently the JV Company is pursuing the Phase-I (3 x 800 MW) of capacity addition.

OBJECTIVE To develop & operate state of art/modern integrated waste management & energy generation facility using municipal solid waste on Build Own Operate (BOO) basis.

This JV was incorporated on 23.05.2003 with Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, a State run Electricity Board in the State of Tamil Nadu engaged in generation, of electricity.
OBJECTIVE To set up a 1500 MW coal based power station at Vallur, Ennore in Tamil Nadu utilizing the existing infrastructure facility at Ennore and supply power mainly to Tamil Nadu and the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Pondicherry.

INTERNATIONAL COAL VENTURES PVT. LIMITED (ICVL)
International Coal Ventures (P) Ltd (ICVL) was incorporated on 20 May 2009 at the initiative of Ministry of Steel, Government of India (GoI). ICVL has been set up as a Joint Venture Company with SAIL, CIL, RINL, NMDC and NTPC as the promoter companies for securing metallurgical coal and thermal coal assets in overseas territories.
